Since opening to the public on April 4, 2006, the original Australian Outback Spectacular Show has captivated the hearts of over 2.5 million people through its high quality productions.

Return of High Country Legends

The Return of High Country Legends took us to the snow peaked mountains of the high country where enchanted whispers and legendary yarns came alive. Guests were dazzled like never before by the astonishing stunts and aerial performances and of course the magnificent animals who brought the brave tale of the Aussie girl sold to the circus at the tender age of 7 to life. The mesmerising story combined with the special effects provided all the drama and action guests have come to expect from Australia’s favourite dinner show.

Once again accompanied by a bespoke compelling score and popular country music composed and written by country music legend Lee Kernaghan, it was impossible not to become involved in the competition that developed between stockmen and women from rival stations. Which station did you barrack for? The stockmen and women of Warrego Station or Bogong High Plains?

Salute to the Light Horse

Guests embarked on a remarkable journey to the snow peaked mountains of the high country where one of Australia’s most moving true stories was regenerated as Australian Outback Spectacular commemorates the Centenary of the ANZACS and salutes the heroes of the legendary Australian Light Horse.

Salute to the Light Horse shared stories of May Wirth and Red Dog which were accompanied by a stirring musical score composed especially for the show, as well as popular country music produced and written by country music legend, Lee Kernaghan.

The larrikin sense of humour and competitive spirit that Australians are famous were encompassed in the show and guests were encouraged to get involved as the stockmen and women from rival stations tested their mateship and went head to head in some true blue Aussie challenges.

High Country Legends

High Country Legends took guests on a captivating journey to the snow peaked mountains of the high country to learn about legendary yarns and inspirational stories of Australian characters.

Guest were dazzled like never before by the amazing animal stars and death defying stunts by our talented trick riders. The audience was also mesmerized by the largest display of special effects as they traveled the road to Omeo with Australia’s yesteryear ghosts. High Country Legends was revered as the most breathtaking arena production ever created under the Australian Outback Spectacular roof.

Spirit of the Horse

Our Australian treasure, Phar Lap, was the inspiration for this Australian Outback Spectacular Show. With Simon Wincer returning to direct again, the incorporation of images from his film was invaluable and really set the tone for this celebratory tribute to Australian legend Phar Lap.

Phar Lap lives on today through films, books and museum exhibits and his spirit lifted this nation in its darkest hour and still now, we know a little bit of Phar Lap’s courage is in all of us.

Heroes of the Light Horse

Heroes of the Light Horse was the second chapter of Australian Outback Spectacular, directed by the acclaimed film director, Simon Wincer, best known for the hit Australian movie, The Cup and his 1987 film, The Lighthorsemen, for which the show takes inspiration from.

Heroes of the Light Horse celebrated the incredible bond between our stockmen and the legendary Australian Light Horse. This special relationship was the highlight of the show, however the fun, charm and skill of the original that we had all come to love, was still at the forefront providing a beautiful story of warmth, love and humour.

Wincer introduced an original element to Heroes of the Light Horse by blending extracts from his movie with the live light horse action in the foreground, further enhancing the show and introducing high definition movie vision to all scenes. The experience offered a deeper journey to the heart and soul of the Australian Outback and the profound legacy of the Light Horsemen – a legacy that all Australians can be proud of.
