Composer of Australian Outback Spectacular
Bruce Rowland was born in Melbourne. He studied piano as a child, and as a teenager played with various bands before becoming highly regarded as a session player and arranger.
During the sixties and seventies, Bruce worked with artists including Olivia Newton-John, Billy Thorpe, Normie Rowe, The Easybeats, Mick Jagger, Roy Orbison and The Beach Boys.
The eighties saw Bruce working on some ambitious film projects, most notably the enormously successful The Man From Snowy River. The soundtrack album achieved double-platinum status.
This was followed by Phar Lap. Both films won Bruce the Australian Film Industry's Best Film Score Award.
Although thoroughly grounded in classical film scoring techniques, Bruce also uses the very latest in technology. His homes in both Melbourne and Los Angeles each contain a recording studio, fully equipped with the latest in computer music technology.
